About Malaby Biogas
Malaby Biogas is part of the Biotic NRG Group which is an investee company of Palisade Real Assets Pty Ltd. Biotic NRG owns Bore Hill Farm (Malaby) – an organic waste fed Anaerobic Digestion plant located in Warminster, Wiltshire.
AD is a commercial scale utilisation of a natural, organic process found throughout nature. It is a closed system that is not exposed to air, it does not use incineration and recovers the heat from its systems back into the processing of the waste stream, keeping the tanks at optimal temperature for gas production. The two main outputs are Green Electricity and Bio-fertiliser.
Malaby Biogas processes food wastes from a wide variety of sources including supermarket waste, local restaurants, farms and food related businesses, as well as waste from various food manufacturing and processing sites throughout the wider area.
This food waste is loaded into our AD system where it is converted into biogas, this gas is then utilised to generate the green electricity, providing power locally into the national grid and contributing to the countries efforts to move away from fossil fuel dependency and towards green, sustainable power. AD offers an advantage over other renewables in that it is not dependant on weather, requiring neither sun or wind as a part of its process, this makes it a superb compliment to both Solar and Wind technologies in the drive towards a better, greener environment for everyone.
The by-product of producing the methane using AD is a high quality, certified Bio-fertiliser which is then utilised by local farmers to produce further food and crops. This forms a symbiotic and sustainable circular link for energy production that doesn’t detract from land use for food production and actively reduces waste which would have previously gone to landfill.
All of this results in an energy production site that is actively reducing CO2 and providing a genuinely green way forward for both producing energy and diverting waste from landfill.
We welcome inquiries from individuals and organizations interested in learning more about anaerobic digestion (AD) and our journey. Bore Hill Farm Biodigester is open to visitors (by appointment) who wish to see our facility.
